BLUE EGG Austin Film Festival - Stage Play Selection
A full length drama in three acts, focusing on the romantic relationship between a Jewish man from NYC and an Austrian woman from Amsterdam that ruptures due to the historical baggage they carry, dragging their families into the ongoing conflict.
The theme is reconciliation, the road back from fascism explored through the efforts of these two characters to find acceptance and forgiveness despite their beliefs and history. Set in small theatres in NYC and upstate, from 1989-2004 - i.e. from the fall of the Berlin wall, through the Twin Towers bombing and on to the Second Intifada - with German folktales, culture and history, and the ongoing Israeli/Palestinian conflict as backdrop. As such, it speaks to the conflicts we’re in now with the grace of a little distance.
